Augustine Hotel Prague

Located in the heart of Prague, the Augustine Hotel Prague, exudes beauty and charm. This boutique hotel has a prime location with close proximities to the majestic Prague Castle, the Wallenstein Garden, and the famous Charles Bridge. The interior design of this 101 room hotel was accomplished by the London based design company RDD, together with Olga Polizzi, The Rocco Forte Collection’s Director of Design. The space includes 16 suites created from seven buildings, many of which have historical importance. This includes where the hotel got its name, the 13th century Augustinian St. Thomas Monastery. Friars currently practicing still live in a separate part of the monastery, neighboring to the hotel grounds.


The hotel’s gracefully designed bedrooms all possess eye-catching views over the courtyards, the monastery chapel or Prague Castle. The suites include an extraordinary 150 square meters of space. Two of these suites, located in the monastery’s astronomical tower, are The Charles Suite and The Tower Suite. Each room features an array of enhancing accessories inspired by early 20th century Czech cubism.


Monastery Restaurant has 90 covers and overlooks a great courtyard with outside seating during the summer months. The guests of this hotel have the choice of two bars. The first, Tom’s Bar, is located in the monastery’s former barrel-vaulted double-height refectory.

The second, Brewery Bar, is found in the cellar, in the former Monastery brewery building, complete with seventeenth century stalactites and stalagmites. Brewery Bar has Vlastislav Hofman-designed chairs which are balanced by the sharp bar.

This boutique hotel, exquisite in lodging, also offers a hotels spa for ultimate relaxation. It features four treatment rooms, a hammam offering special heat treatments, sauna, steam room, relaxation area and an 80 square foot fully-equipped gym.


A unique feature only available at the Augustine Hotel is an invitation awaiting guests to enjoy exclusive tours of the Church’s magnificent private library.

This boutique hotel has already won many industry awards since its opening including: “Monastery restaurant was just recently included in the Top Ten Restaurants in Prague for 2011 in the Grand Restaurant Guide and also won the prestigious Interior Design of the Year award for Tom’s Bar at The Sleep Event Hotel Design Awards 2009. Additionally, the hotel also won Best Hotel at the Construction Journal Awards last year. More recently Augustine Hotel Prague debuts in The Gold List 2010. The hotel was included in Conde Nast Traveller’s annual “Gold List” 2010, which features the best hotels in the world. The property was listed in both the “Gold list” and “Hot List” sections and was nominated in Virtuoso Hotels & Resorts and Virtuoso Life magazine nominee in the Best of the Best Awards in the category of Hotel of the Year 2010.”
