Baja Camp, California

February 27, 2014 by

Need a place where you can really get away, kick off your shoes, and get in touch with nature again? Look no further than Baja Camp, in Baja California.

This eco-friendly camp was designed for the soul searcher, the wanderlust, big city dweller in need of sand beneath their toes. It’s set up on a private nature reserve on the Isla di Espirito Santo. They accommodate just ten guests, so it’s just you and a few others, the seals, and the soft babbling of the ocean.

You’ll find yourself sleeping and dreaming under sturdy tents with queen beds and eating under the community tent. Your freshly prepared meals highlight fish and shellfish from the Sea of Cortez paired with Chilean and California grape blends.

Your days will be packed with snorkeling with the fish, scuba diving with the reef sharks, kayaking among the seals, hiking into local caves or along the coastline, fishing, or just simply sitting and reading.

The camp is open from June through September. If scuba is your fancy, visit between July and August.

Visit their website to begin planning next summer’s getaway.

So it’s like supervised, catered camping? I could get into that!
