Eastwood, former Carmel mayor and longtime resident, purchased the historic Mission Ranch, which was one of the first dairy farms in California, in 1986 in order to save it from being torn down and turned into a condo complex. After restoring the property, the farm opened as a 31-room hotel.
Lodging options range from the rustic Bunkhouse, rooms in the farmhouse (which dates back to the 1850′s), and Meadowview rooms, with views of grazing sheep. Adding to the ambiance, many rooms have whirlpool tubs and gas fireplaces.
The buildings sit on 22 acres, dotted with historic cypress and eucalyptus trees, as well as planted gardens.
Hungry? Head to the Restaurant at Mission Ranch for classic American cuisine served either inside or out on the heated patio with views of the meadow. End the night with a drink at the piano bar, playing live piano music every night of the week.
