Hotel Pemaquid

The Hotel Pemaquid opened its doors to guests on July 4, 1888 and today it still welcomes quests on a seasonal basis to New Harbor, Maine. This historic hotel offers a variety of rooms at affordable prices.

Today, updated rooms include amenities like: wireless Internet, flat screen TVs (cable television), room refrigerators, and while these modern amenities are welcomed, the hotel’s hospitality, affordable cost, and stunning location is what keeps guests coming back for generations.

Best rates are available to guests who pay by check or with cash, with full payment made at check-in.

Affordable Prices for a Quality Stay

Eliminating credit card charges is just one way the Hotel Permaquid keeps prices at just $20 a night.

Other ways they keep costs down is that they don’t provide toiletries like shampoo and conditioner. However, items are available at the front desk for guests who forget something.

The hotel offers 30 rooms, all individually decorated and well appointed which can be viewed on the hotel’s website.

Along with the 30 rooms, the Four Season Cottage is also available. However, the cottage requires a $300 damage deposit which can be secured via check or a credit card hold. Once guests have left and the cottage is cleaned and assessed, the deposit is returned (usually within a week of departure).

Things to Do and See

The Hotel Pemaquid is situated closer to the Permaquid Lighthouse and the ocean than any other hotel in New Harbor. The lighthouse is a cultural and historical treasure only 150 yards from the hotel and enjoys panoramic views of the Atlantic as it rises above the crashing surf and dramatic rock formations.

Other parks in the area include The Old Rock School House in Bristol, The Moxie Cove Picnic Area in Round Pond, The Permaquid Beach Park, in New Harbor, the Swimming Hole at the Permaquid River Dam in Bristol Mills, among others.

For other local favorites, including restaurants in the area, be sure to visit their website.
