Hotel Monaco Philadelphia

History buffs and culture vultures now have a new address to stay at when visiting the City of Brotherly Love. Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco opened its doors to guests mid-October.

The new hotel is perfectly placed—just a block away from the Liberty Bell, and steps away from the bustling boutiques and restaurants in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood.

Hotel Monaco is located in the historic Lafayette Building, which dates back to 1907. But inside, contemporary comforts, like Japanese soaking tubs and white tufted leather fixtures, lend an updated elegance to the rooms.

All guestrooms come with Italian bath amenities, HDTVs and “Rocky” inspired robes for relaxing in-room. When you’re ready to explore the city, ask the front desk for a complimentary bike to wheel around town.

The Hotel Monaco also contains a restaurant, the Red Owl Tavern, which focuses on food made from local, seasonal ingredients. For a drink with a view, head to the Stratus Rooftop Bar & Lounge, a 300-person rooftop bar with uninterrupted views of Independence Park.

Weekend rates start around $229 per night.
