February 28, 2011 by

The Hotel Urban is a luxury 5 star hotel located in the heart of Madrid, Spain.
Located in a newly constructed building in the heart of the financial, political, commercial and cultural center of Madrid, the Hotel Urban won’t fail to catch your interest.
With a marked Art-Deco style and opting for avant-garde architecture, the Hotel Urban is a boutique hotel from the 21st century, urban, design and ideal for exacting lovers of luxury who shy from conventionality. A charming, modern design hotel that has already become a point of reference. It stands out not only in the hotel panorama but also among Madrid’s dining establishments and nighttime entertainment venues thanks to Europa Decó and the Glass Bar.
The 102 exquisite guest rooms in the centre of Madrid, the harmony of the materials and the liveliness of the collection of Egyptian, Chinese, Hindu and African pieces on display in them and the careful lighting of each space will make your stay a one-of-a-kind experience. Five unique room designs are offered: Standard, Duplex, Junior Suite, Suite and Suite Loft.

Single and double Standard rooms offer a unique atmosphere of cutting-edge, contemporary design. The outward facing rooms have views over Carrera de San Jerónimo or of calle Ventura Vega, the heart of the city. Some features of the room: flat-screen LCD TV, individual heating and air-conditioning, mini-bar, direct phone line and a safe with space for a laptop computer.

Duplex rooms are distributed over two levels, with a raised section containing a separate living room area. The rooms’ cutting-edge design and top-quality materials include tropical wood floors, natural stone walls and fabulous oriental sculptures displayed in every room. The duplex rooms overlook Carrera de San Jerónimo or calle Ventura Vega. Some features of the room: sofa, bathroom with marble trim, with bath and 2 flat-screen LCD TVs.

Junior Suite rooms are one level with a stunning glass-walled bathroom that forms an integral part of the space and contains a hydromassage bath. Overlooking the hotel’s atrium and its central patio, this is a spectacular space in which to relax in the company of giant original sculptures from Papua New Guinea. Some features of the room: sofa, bathroom with marble trim and glass walls, Hydromassage bath, DVD, music system and hairdryer.

Suites are a place where sophisticated design blends perfectly with exquisite lighting throughout the suite. An unbeatable setting in which to enjoy your stay, with views of the hotel’s atrium or carrera de San Jerónimo. Three of the suites interconnect with a Standard room, the ideal solution for families travelling together, who need more space.

Loft-style Suite Duplex designed to satisfy all the senses: avant-garde style, exuberant luxury, space, natural light and views of the central Calle de San Jerónimo. Its distribution on two levels comfortably separates the sleeping area, on the lower level, from the work or rest area on the upper level. Its large single-pane window, measuring over four metres high, lets in natural light throughout the day. But this suite is outstanding for the materials used in its decoration: Wenge wood marquetry; glass and steel shower screens; black Zimbabwe stone in the glass walls in the bathrooms; and tropical teak furniture. Its decor is amazing: Art Deco rugs and steel furniture in the bedrooms combine with furniture by architect J. Hoffman, transparent Meridiana chairs by Driade, a glass headboard and bedside tables by Triade, the Italian leather sofa and Starck bathroom fittings by Duravit. Suite services include: personalized in-room check-in, welcome bottle of champagne in room, bath salts, breakfast served in room, early check-in and late checkout (subject to availability), complimentary newspapers delivered to room and a 10% discount at the Europa Decó restaurant and the Glass Bar.

At the hand of chef Joaquín de Felipe and maître Francisco Patón, the Hotel Urban is one of the most important reference points for dining establishments in Madrid. Two spaces have stood out since they were opened: the Glass Bar oyster and cocktail bar and the restaurant Europa Decó, a charming restaurant that has received numerous national and international prizes with its ethnic décor and contemporary cuisine. Without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Madrid. And for summer evenings, La Terraza del Urban, an outdoor space with an extensive cocktail menu is ideal.

The Europa Decó restaurant, in the centre of Madrid, can host 45 dinner guests in the coolest space of the moment. With spectacular décor combining good taste and extravagance, it includes digitalized lighting, crystallized panels, a chimney lined in gold leaf and chairs with steel feet upholstered with iguana-textured leather. Europa Decó offers creative Mediterranean cuisine. Chef Joaquín Felipe and Francisco Patón, winner of the Spanish National Gastronomy Award and heading the wait staff, have developed a cosmopolitan aesthetic and cuisine oriented towards seasonal ingredients with a contemporary flair. Of special note are the tuna trio and calamari sashimi, New Zealand Kobe-style beef tataki with arugala, the roast lamb sirloin with quinoa and ‘Iberian secret’ with cornbread crumble.
Urban Hotel in the bustling heart of Madrid, stands out on its own, waiting for you to arrive.
