JIA Shanghai, China

December 29, 2011 by

JIA is Shanghai’s latest truly designer-led boutique experience.

Found in a spectacular 1920’s building in the heart of Shanghai, JIA is lively, friendly, and diverse , with gently dramatic, warm, and sexy spaces permeated with a sense of enjoyment.

JIA gets its name from the Mandarin word meaning ‘home’ and is the second to open in the JIA collection of residential-style boutique hotels by young Singaporean businesswoman Yenn Wong. She is dedicated to developing properties with a pulse. Following in the footsteps of the Philippe Starck-designed JIA HONG KONG, this Shanghai sister blends luxury and indulgence, striking ancideal steadiness between a home and a hotel.

Studio rooms are roomy and playful, Suites are gorgeous, and two fanastic Penthouse Suites are mischievously decadent. All come complete with fully equipped kitchen and the latest communication and entertainment technology to keep their guests’ relaxation levels high.

Guests are received by an attractive Lobby which radiates a feel of ‘Eclectic China’ – a stunning ‘Cascade’ installation set in a two-storey space where haute heritage birdcages are poised from the ceiling above a rolling Chinese black lacquered sculpture. Washed oak flooring and fabric wall paneling with a romantic Chinese embroidery design creates JIA’s signature feel while eccentric works by local artists add a touch of humor.

A Business Centre helps to lessen your workload while you sip a cocktail in the luxurious Lobby Lounge, or spoil yourself in dangerously delicious Italian cuisine served with passion at Issimo.

Service-oriented, this hotel aims to please. All guests need do is make yourself at home and enjoy.
