Visiting Peru’s Cusco offers a wealth of things to do, and when you’re ready to relax, the Belmond Palacio Nazarenas offers a tranquil setting located right behind Cusco’s main square.

This luxury hotel was once a palace and then a convent. Now after years of restoration it has become one of the city’s most exclusive hotels.

An Urban Retreat

While there are plenty of hiking and camping tours in the area, for those who are looking for more of a retreat that’s still conveniently located to attractions like the Inca Trail, the Archeological Park of Sacsayhuama, the temple Qurikancha, or the famous hub for travelers “Faces of Cusco,” the Belmond Palacio Nazarenas is ideally situated.

This unique hotel is cloistered by courtyard walls made of Inca stones, but offers a unique blend of cultural history with contemporary Cusco. Even if you stayed on site, you’d have plenty to do with an outstanding spa, stylish restaurants, Cusco’s first hated outdoor pool, and a boutique.

Hypnoze Spa

In keeping with the Inca and Andean culture, the Hypnoze Spa has created treatments that enhance physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. They use their own brand of organic products made with indigenous Peruvian ingredients.

The spa itself is surrounded by a quiet private patio, and has five single treatment rooms and one double room with a private hot tub. Some of the treatment rooms even feature glass floors looking down at the Inca wall.

Amenities

In all, the hotel offers 55 spacious suites, each equipped with oxygen and a private bar. Suites also enjoy a tranquil terrace or patio landscaped with indigenous flowers as well as aromatic herbs.

From here, you’ll be able to enjoy the peaceful sounds of water flowing through the irrigation channels of the agricultural terraces situated in the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.

Guests can also take advantage of┬ácomplimentary infusions and coffee throughout the day and will have a butler to help prepare refreshing cocktails and teach how to mix a pisco sour. If you’ve got questions on what to do or where to go, your butler is the person to ask. He’ll even make reservations for tours.

Shop at the Boutique

Shopping is made easy at the hotel’s Boutique. It features quality handicrafts as well as items created by some of Peru’s up-and-coming fashion designers and artists.
