Must See: Turtle Inn, Belize

May 28, 2012 by

Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola isn’t just known for his work behind the camera. The influential film director is also owner of one of the most popular resorts in Central America, the Turtle Inn in Belize.

Bridging the gap between luxury and nature, the 25 rooms of the Turtle Inn offer upscale accommodations and breathtaking views. Each private room is housed in an individual thatched cottage with a private deck and access to the beautiful sand and Belizean waters.

The Turtle Inn is located on mainland Belize, away from a lot of the tourist traffic found on Belize’s islands of Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker. Nestled between the jungle and the sea, Turtle Inn is secluded enough to qualify as a true escape while still providing ample activities for the active visitor. Snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, hiking and biking are just a few of the adventures awaiting guests.

Relaxation and rejuvenation are the Turtle Inn’s specialities, however. Check in to a suite with a Japanese bathroom, outdoor shower, and easy access to both a freshwater and saltwater pool. At the end of the day, nosh on local fish caught daily at the Mare Restaurant while reflecting on the natural beauty of Belize, and your good fortune to experience it.
