Must Stay Here: Winkler Bräu Hotel and Brewery

April 21, 2013 by

If you’re visiting the Bavarian region of Germany, the perfect place for you to stay is the Winkler Bräu Hotel and Brewery. Opened in 1948 as a family run farm, this hotel, brewery, and restaurant is a warm and welcoming place to call home.

The 141 various hotel rooms feature hardwood floors, locally crafted furniture made form cherry tree, oak, and beechwood, skylight windows, marble stone bathrooms, private balconies, and traditional Bayrish (Bavarian) artwork. They provide modern comfort with a traditional German touch.

Room rates run between 47-106 €/night. Dogs are also welcome for an additional 7€/night. The spa, with it’s swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and fitness area, is included in the price of your stay.

Conveniently located between Nuremburg and Regensburg, you’ll have no shortage of things to do and see, but before you leave town, visit the historical “Bräustüberl (brew parlor), located just downstairs.

The unique flavors at this traditional restaurant come from their particular food choices. They emphasize regional dishes, and serve foods exclusively from local suppliers. They source their meats from local farms and grow their own herbs and flowers on the grounds of the hotel and restaurant.

The perfect companion for your German meal is a Winkler Bräu beer. These 375 year old brews are created with barley grown in the fields just outside your hotel window and with hops grown in the region. The Kupfer-Spezial has won awards nationwide and pairs nicely with a wild boar bratwurst.

Whether you’re just driving through or spending a week, the Winkler Bräu is a great place to stay with it’s reasonable prices and welcoming environment.
