One Fine Day for One Fine Stay in London

April 16, 2012 by

Experience London like a Londoner. Instead of staying in a hotel like any old tourist, stay in an “unhotel”. What is an unhotel? Basically someone else’s home that they let you stay in. Only better because you’ll have fresh, fluffy towels and pressed sheets just like a hotel. Oooh, and those lovely little soaps.

Also like a hotel, you’ll have a personal welcome, maid service, free tea and coffee and optional airport pick up. You can even have them stock your fridge. Onefinestay.com arranges the experience of a hotel, only homier because they have an extensive inventory of 4-star equivalent accommodations all around London chosen by house curators.

This is ideal for those who are traveling with children or just want to feel like a local.

Don’t know what to do when you get to your new home away from home? Why, just listen to your loaner iPhone. The owners – those sweet people who are conveniently away during your trip – have loaded an iPhone with recommendations and left it for you, along with the keys to their kingdom. And their kid’s toys! So kind of them, don’t you think?

Lovely, yes. But what are the actual homes like? The spacious accommodations available include 850+ square feet of homes, numerous bedrooms, living room/play areas for the kids, backyards, dining areas and a kitchen where you can cook your own meals and entertain. Imagine – a back yard. In London! Take a look:

As if that wasn’t enough to entice a family out of their comfy nest and into the jet setting crowd, Onefinestay can recommend a fully qualified child-minding service. Now that’s service for you.

Don’t have kids? That’s cool. You can still tour the 33 boroughs that make up the city of London on your own. Probably even easier. Definitely quieter.

I think it’s time for a nice cup of tea in London, don’t you?

Great idea for families with kids. There are so few options for families nowadays.

Also check out Air BnB which seems to have a similar concept.

So hard to find kid-friendly hotel options, especially in big cities like London. These guys should do quite well with this concept.
