Stallmästaregården in Stockholm, Sweden

February 20, 2012 by

Stallmästaregården is Stockholm’s oldest inn. It has a delightful mixture of modern luxury and an electrifying historic past dating back to the mid-1600s.

In the mid-1600s, Queen Kristina used to stop at what was then stable-master Ebbe Håkansson’s farm. Ever since those times, colorful restaurateurs have kept the proud traditions alive.

The inn is home to 49 hotel rooms, conference rooms, and a grand banqueting venue for up to 200 people. Located by the gorgeous bay of Brunnsviken in the Royal Haga Park, it is still only minutes away from downtown.

Stallmästaregården of today is a contemporary restaurant, hotel, banquet and conference venue, yet keeping the enduring character and traditions of authentic hotel generosity. The vigilantly replicated hotel is connected to Stallmästaregården’s old buildings. The 49 beautifully decorated hotel rooms have all contemporary conveniences and the design is inspired by the Swedish style of the 1700s collected this with the Chinese influences which were common during that time, as the Chinese Castle at Drottningholm and the East Indian Company.

The popular restaurant overlooks the bay of Brunnsviken. The restaurant has modern cuisine with old traditions.

Stallmästaregården’s recently built hotel matches the fashionable restaurant dating back to the 1600s, an exceptional mixture of contemporary design and stunning remarkable style, with an exquisite location in the Royal Park of Haga at the bay Brunnsviken, only minutes away from the city center of Stockholm.

Stallmästaregården is owned by Nobis, one of Scandinavia’s leading hospitality corporations. The group also operates renowned venues such as the world-renown restaurant Operakällaren, the Café Opera night club, the design hotels Hotel J, Nobis Hotel and Hotel Skeppsholmen, the conference and event arena Nacka Strandsmässan and several others exciting meeting venues.

Stallmästaregården opened up in August 2000. Stallmästaregården is recommended by the Guide Michelin 2011.
