The Henry Jones Art Hotel is a 50-room, 5-star, boutique, modern luxury, design hotel in Hobart, Australia. Situated on Hobart’s historic harborside waterfront, the hotel is comprised of a row of renovated warehouses from the early 1800’s and is Australia’s first Art Hotel; exhibiting over 250 original artworks throughout the hotel complex.

Accommodations at The Henry Jones Art Hotel come in Room, Suite and Loft Types, classified as Standard Rooms, Superior Rooms, Deluxe Spa Rooms, The Art Installation Suite, The Oriental Suites, The H. Jones Suite, The Peacock Terrace and Art Studio Lofts. Standard & Superior Rooms offer views of the Atrium or the Harbor, with Standard Rooms offering a spacious shower and Superior Rooms boasting an elliptical double bath.

The Deluxe Spa Rooms offer a choice of Atrium or Harbor views and come with ultra-modern spa-like glass and sandstone bathrooms with Double bath. Some of the Deluxe Spa Rooms retain the building’s old world charms, with exposed brickwork and beams an elegant contrast to the chic contemporary modern furnishings.

The Art Installation Suite is a spacious suite with exposed stone and brickwork walls are adorned with select paintings from the Henry Jones Art Catalog. If you happen to take a fancy to a particular work of art, or two, they are all for sale and the hotel can arrange secure packaging and freight to have it delivered to your home or office. With views overlooking the glass Atrium, The Art Installation Suite has a private balcony that is perfect for breakfast and evening drinks.

The Oriental Suites are spacious suites that offer Harbor or Mount Wellington views, and are decorated in a Japenese-style theme. The fabrics, furnishings and color schemes all introduce traditional Japanese design that is focused on achieving harmony.  The Oriental Suites occupy part of the old Henry Jones Ice House and, with the contemporary interior design, still maintain a cool vibe.

The H. Jones Suite is a large and ultra-luxurious suite that occupies the former administrative office and boardroom of H. Jones & Co Jams. Formerly named the Calcutta Suite, this suite features very tall Tasmanian Oak ceilings, with skylights that fill the suite with natural light to offset the extensive use of dark woods.

The Peacock Terrace Suite, formerly the Peking Suite, is an apartment-sized ultra-luxurious suite that showcases some of the best examples of contemporary Tasmanian Art from the early settlement years. Spread over two floors and featuring 2-Bedrooms, Living Room, and Kitchenette, The Peacock Terrace Suite is located in the former home of George & Margaret Peacock and later Sir Henry Jones, and offers wonderful views across Sullivan’s Cove.

The Art Studio Lofts are the latest addition to The Henry Jones Art Hotel and are situated on the edge of the elegant glass Atrium. Stylish and contemporary, the Art Studio Lofts offer all the convenience of self-contained units with all the service and amenities of a 5-star luxury hotel.

Henry’s Harbourside Restaurant offers a sophisticated dining experience, as is befitting for a 5-star luxury hotel. The exceptional menu delivers an exciting range of contemporary Australian cuisine, using the freshest local ingredients.

IXL Long bar is ‘the’ place to see and be seen in Hobart. One of the signature spaces in the hotel complex, it is a marriage of rustic charms and contemporary modern glass and colors.

The Atrium offers both Courtyard and Al Fresco dining, catering for up to 300 people. Primarily a restaurant, the Atrium can be reserved for private events. In addition to the Atrium, The Henry Jones Art Hotel offers first-class meeting and event space via the Jones & Co Room. This large hall was the former heart of the Henry Jones empire and can accommodate up to 150 guests for Weddings, Celebrations, Receptions and Corporate Functions.

The Henry Jones Art Hotel has painstakingly created a unique and luxurious venue that combines all the grandeur of the early settlement years with contemporary modern stylings and artworks to stunning effect. With its outstanding accomodations, excellent restaurants and 5-star service, it is one of the premier destinations in this part of the world and definitely a must-stay experience for the Chic Traveler.
