Top Pet-Friendly Hotels

June 22, 2012 by

Some lucky pooches not only get to travel with their owners on vacation, but also get pampered at pet-friendly hotels across the country. With more and more hotels and resorts offering up pet-friendly rooms to travelers who just can’t bear to leave their canine companions at home, the options for traveling with your pet have grown exponentially.

Here are some top pet-friendly hotels in the U.S. that cater to canines in addition to their doting owners:

1. Ritz-Carlton Hotels

Of course the Ritz-Carlton chain is known for its impeccable service and opulent decor, but did you know that some locations are now pet-friendly? The Ritz-Carlton in Bachelor Gulch, Colorado goes a step above and beyond for pooches with hikes twice a day and an end-of-day massage, bath and room-service menu for pups.

2. Kimpton Hotels

The Kimpton chain of boutique hotels has become one of the front-runners and trendsetters for canine travel accommodations. All of their hotels are pet-friendly, with no additional fees or weight limits for pups.

Beyond the standard bowls, treats and beds, the Kimpton Hotels also offer room-service options for pets, dog yoga and other special options. Twelve of the hotels even have a canine ambassador, adorably named the Director of Pet Relations, who greets pet guests to the hotel.

3. Loews Hotels

The elegant Loews Hotels are now pet friendly and offer some excellent services for canine travelers. In addition to bowls, a bed, a dog tag and treats, pups can expect to be treated to daily walks, pet sitting, spa treatments and even dog videos to keep the pooch entertained when owners are out and about.

Wouldn’t it be nice if more hotels allowed a “pet floor” where guests could have pets? And then a dog-walking service would be ideal, preventing accidents and long days of lonely barking!
