The Best Friend’s Animal Society’s Sanctuary in Angel Canyon, Utah, has been helping animals for 30 years.
Since its inception, it has grown into a multi-structure refuge for different species, and today even offers vacation accommodations as a unique vacation destination ideal for all animal lovers.
Enjoy a Sleepover with a Dog or Cat
You can visit the Best Friend’s Animal Society’s Sanctuary to enjoy the natural beauty of the canyon, or take advantage of one of their guided tours of the facilities.
The sanctuary also offers lodging options including cottages that accommodate up to six people and three pets, as well as smaller cabins for two people and two pets. They also have fully equipped RV sites.
When you spend the night in one of the rental units, you’ll have an opportunity to invite one of the many adoptable dogs or cats to spend the night with you. It’s a special opportunity to dole out an extra measure of one-on-one love, but don’t be surprised if you leave with a new furry member of the family.
On-site lodging is limited, though, so it is important to book well in advance.
The sanctuary features 3,800 spectacular acres, which allows Best Friends to have specific areas for each species. Plan to visit Dogtown, Cat World, Horse Haven, Marshall’s Piggy Paradise, Bunny House, Parrot Garden, and Wild Friends.
Camp for Kids
The sanctuary gets around 30,000 visitors each year, and if you are planning a summer vacation they offer a camp for kids ages 6 to 9 with different educational activities offered each day of the week.
This summer’s Kid’s Camp will run from June – to Aug. 14, 2015, and starts at 8:00 in the morning and runs until 11:30. Kids who participate need a parent or guardian on the sanctuary premises during camp hours.
Angel Canyon’s best weather occurs between May and October, but winter does feature a stunning snowy landscape perfect for those planning a winter getaway. For more information, visit their website or call 435-644-2001 ext. 4555.
