Warm Up With Kimpton’s Winter Nights Cocktail

November 7, 2012 by

Kimpton Hotels are known for their sleek yet luxurious design and their outstanding customer service (complimentary hosted wine hour, anyone?). But they’re also known for their spot-on restaurants that serve up imaginative dishes far beyond most hotel fare.

In the spirit of giving, this holiday season, Kimpton’s chefs and master mixologists are sharing some recipes for those who are staying home. Recipes range from a turkey brine to smoked salmon latkes, with a grasshopper pie for dessert.

And those looking for new ideas for too much turkey, can try out the leftover turkey and chorizo gumbo recipe.

And the crew at Kimpton knows the value of a good cocktail, so they’ve also included three recipes for winter sips. Our favorite, Winter Nights, comes from San Francisco-based Master Mixologist, Jacques Bezuidenhout.

Winter Nights

1 ½ oz Pierre Ferrand 1840 Cognac

1 ½ oz 10yr Tawny Port

1 bar spoons maple syrup

Dash of Angostura bitters

3 oz Hot water

Add all ingredients to a heated brandy snifter. Garnish with grated nutmeg.
