As summer segues into fall, vacation destinations also shift. Beaches become bare as travelers follow the changing leaves. And for some, the picturesque grounds and luxuriously renovated interiors of Stonover Farm in Lenox, MA are the perfect place to be for a front row look at fall foliage.
This classic New England B&B dates back to 1890, when it operated as a gentleman’s farm. But it wasn’t until 2001 that the Inn opened, with three luxury suites, some complete with a sitting room, fireplace and Jacuzzi tub.
Looking for something a little more private? Other lodging options here include a cottage, situated on a hill and complete with a fully equipped kitchen, and a renovated 600-square-foot school house dating back to 1850. All options are elegantly appointed, with luxe fabrics and warm neutral tones.
The buildings sit on 10 open acres, with a duck pond adding to the farm’s bucolic charm. But there’s more than just Norman Rockwell-esque activities to be had here. Guests can also check out the Barn Gallery, located in—you guessed it—a barn, and featuring contemporary painting, sculpture, photography and applied arts.
Another bonus, the farm is only a 15 minute walk from Tanglewood, the celebrated summer home of the famous Boston Symphony Orchestra (check the schedule to find an event.)
