March is the start of spring and the prettiest time of year in Paris. It is a great time to plan a vacation, and this year is an exceptionally ideal time to visit the City of Lights (La Ville-Lumière) for art connoisseurs and collectors.
If you’re lucky enough to be heading to France this spring, you won’t want to miss the Art Paris Art Fair held March 28 – April 1. The 2013 Paris Art Fair is scheduled to bring together 140 international galleries in one place; the Grand Palais.
The Grand Palais Paris
Art enthusiasts marvel at the architecture of the Grand Palais Paris, which is listed as a historic monument. This iconic landmark was built from 1897 – 1900 and is easily identified thanks to its glass roof.
This impressive building houses the Galeries Nationales and the Palais de la Decouverte, an interactive science museum, and even has a restaurant on site.
Art Paris Art Fair 2013
This year’s Art Paris Art Fair is building on the success of the 2012 fair. This year will be bigger and better with a focus on the art scenes of Europe as well as other regions including Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
The fair will showcase both the diversity and specificity of scenes throughout Europe including an exhibit on Russia.
This year’s fair also boasts a new section for young galleries that have been established for five years or less and that have not been displayed previously at the Art Paris Art Fair.
