Sustainable food-focused chain Chipotle is moving beyond burritos to host two food and music festivals later this year. The Cultivate Food, Ideas & Music Festivals will take place in Chicago and Denver (the chain’s birthplace).
The free one-day festivals will include live music, cooking demonstrations by celeb chefs, and place a focus on fresh, affordable food made from sustainable ingredients. Farmers and artisans will also be on hand to give attendees a deeper understanding of how food goes from the farm to their table.
All the details aren’t yet released, but this is what we know so far:
Chicago’s festival takes place September 15th in Lincoln Park with music by G. Love and Special Sauce. Chefs Richard Blais, Amanda Freitag and Paul Kahan will be in attendance.
Denver’s festival will bring together chefs Richard Blais, Michael Chiarello and Lachlan Mackinnon Patterson and musical group Okkervil River in City Park on October 6th.
A Tasting Tent, featuring local and specialty beers and wine, will be available to festival-goers. And Chipotle is set to serve up a selection of dishes based on their restaurant menu, but with an unique twist for the festival.
More chefs and musicians are sure to join the line-up in the coming weeks. For more information, check out the official Cultivate Festival website.
