Must See: La Plage in Paris in July

April 25, 2012 by

You might have heard how summer isn’t the time to visit Paris, but don’t believe a word of it. If you find yourself in the city or near the city during mid-July to mid-August, la Plage is the place to be!

The city of Paris brings in truck loads of sand and lines the banks of the Seine with this summer staple, creating a beach get-away in the middle of the bustling city.

There are many things to do on the beach besides sitting in the sun. You will find a swimming pool, concert stage, and open-air attractions (rollerblading, tai-chi, wall climbing, boules, etc.).

Refreshment areas, play areas and deckchairs are also available for your time out unwinding by the river. La Plage is the ideal children’s summer day, too!

So forget the crowds and traffic of the French Riviera and stay in town for a Seine-side holiday – the perfect way to cool off in the summer sun. Or, if you’ve been working all day, a quick dipping of your toes in the warm sand can set your right.

The beaches are open from 8am till midnight.
