Barcelona Cooking

For Foodies looking for a vacation destination that offers recreational cooking classes, Barcelona Cooking provides an ideal experience with classes designed for all skill levels.

Barcelona Cooking Classes

The Barcelona Cooking classes last for 3-4 hours and offer hands-on opportunities with various degrees of difficulty. Classes are offered two times a day Monday through Saturday.

For some select classes, participants have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the Boqueria market with Barcelona Cooking’s professional chef. The market is just 50 meters from the kitchen and it provides the perfect backdrop to ask questions and learn about selecting organic ingredients for the class. It’s also an opportunity to learn about the history of the market, too!

What’s Cooking?

Foodies will enjoy learning to make authentic Catalan dishes, complemented with delicious Spanish wines. Classes are taught in English by a bilingual Chef Instructor who speaks both Spanish and English. The chef describes dishes to be prepared and participants are given an apron and recipe packet, before the first bottles of wine are opened.

Yes, everyone enjoys local wines along with the textures, flavors, and scents of traditional Spanish dishes in the kitchen.

Tapas Class

Aside from the Barcelona Cooking class, a Tapas Class showcases a chance to create the best of Spanish Culinary cuisine “from the traditional to the Avant-garde to a Catalan favorite” for just 65 EUR per person. The Tapas Class Menu may vary some depending on the season but features:

  • Cream of Chestnut and Mushroom Soup
  • Sausage and Vegetable-stuffed Baby Squid in Onion Confit
  • Anchovy Toast with Romesco Sauce
  • Home-made Mató cheese in spiced wine

Reservations

Along with enjoying a great meal, participants have the opportunity to meet locals and other visitors who share the same passion for Spanish cuisine. If you’re a Foodie looking to feed your passion on vacation, the Barcelona Cooking Classes features an unique opportunity from market to table. However, classes are small and fill up quickly so be sure to check their schedule for availability.

I need to go to Spain! It’s on my list but I just haven’t convinced my partner that Spain should be our next trip! So many countries, so little time!
