Japan Offers New Luxury Trains

Japanese Luxury

New luxury trains are coming to three Japanese railway companies. Kyushu Railway, East Japan and West Japan Railways will be offering luxury trains to cruise Japan. This not only gets travelers away from the usually crowded conditions of rush hour, but offers comfort, entertainment, and private bathrooms.

Kyushu Seven Stars Train

The Kyushu Seven Stars train plans to offer a series of tours starting in the fall of 2013. In all, tourists will choose from 14 on-board suites equipped with personal bathrooms, large windows for viewing, live music and other on-board entertainment.

Trains will follow routes offering interesting sights including shrines, hot springs, natural attractions, and more. The luxury trains offer an ideal way to take in the breathtaking scenery while relaxing in comfort. The downside to all this luxury is that it’s expensive. Travelers can expect to pay ¥550,000 for a four-day trip.

The Seven Stars Train will be decorated in a blend of Japanese and Western elements with woods and fabrics blending new and more traditional styles. The lounge car will be equipped with a bar, sofas, and rotating chairs with live piano music played in the evening.

Travelers will be able to choose from spacious guest rooms including 2 Deluxe Suites per carriage, and 3 Suites.

East Japan Luxury Trains

East Japan Railway’s luxury train is a projected to be a 10-car luxury sleeper train. The planned route will include attractions like the Shirakami Sanchi (white god mountain ground) and Hiraizum which offers insight into various Buddhist temples and gardens.

West Japan Trains

Back in March, West Japan Railway Co. announced its own brand of luxury trains are in the works, but no details were forthcoming.

The luxury trains from West Japan and East Japan Railways will cost slightly less, but will still be pricey enough for most tourists. Even with the high prices, the trains are already fully booked into next year so make your reservations soon.

Those are some sexy looking trains! But I wonder how much of the country you would really get to see when riding one?
