Kobe

Kobe is a port city located between the Rokko mountains and Osaka Bay.

If you plan to travel Japan, make sure to add Kobe Japan to your itinerary. Nestled between the Rokko mountains and Osaka Bay, Kobe Japan offers the benefits of visiting a diverse city with a mountain backdrop that’s on the sea. It’s a beautiful, fun, and interesting port city and popular destination.

Weather in Kobe Japan

For the most part, Kobe’s location enjoys a mild climate. However, winter can get pretty cold, and in the dead of summer the days are hot and humid. If you have a choice as to when to plan your visit, spring is a particularly pretty time especially when the cherry trees are in blossom. Fall is also a favorite, with pleasant weather and autumn colors.

City Sights: Something for Everybody

Kobe is rich with cultural sights including houses, mansions, museums and galleries. The Choueke Yashiki is an inhabited house open to the public. It dates back to 1889, and it’s filled with memorabilia from East and West including Namban woodblock prints that date back to 1861-62.

Among the many museums you’ll find in Kobe, style aficionados won’t want to miss Rokko Island’s Fashion Museum. Displays cover a large selection of fashion from traditional tribal, to 18th century Robe à la Française, to Christian Dior gowns.

Aside from in-city attractions, nature lovers will enjoy hiking and taking in sites like Nunobiki Falls. This impressive waterfall is just a 20 minute walk from Shin-Kobe station. If this sounds more like what you’re looking for, consider taking a cable car up to the top of Mount Rokko.

From the cable car, you’ll also get a view of the oldest golf course in Japan (designed in 1903). Once at the top, you have a choice. You can either walk the hillside’s gardens, breathe in the fragrant flowers, herbs, and more as you follow a winding path back to the base, or you can return to Kobe by cable car.

Giant Panda Zoo

The Giant Panda Zoo in Kobe Japan stretches over 80,000 square meters. It’s a great stop for animal lovers, but it also houses an amusement park, and is a great place to visit during the spring when cherry blossom viewing is at its height.
