Miami Topped Searched Spring Break Destination

April 1, 2014 by

If you’re looking for some fun in the sun following the long winter, Miami tops the list in spring break destination searches on the Internet. It’s got everything people are looking for, including warm weather and things to do.

Best Beach Hotels in Miami

With so many hotels to choose from in Miami, deciding on which hotel will best suit your needs can seem a bit daunting. However, a team of Oyster reporters spent weeks checking out 121 hotels in Miami looking for the best beach hotels.

They have put together a convenient online guide to pass along their first-hand knowledge to the public. They slept in the beds, ate at the restaurants, sampled the nightlife, and lounged at the pools. Their findings offer an easy one-stop place to learn about prices, how far it really is to the beach, and how well the rooms are appointed. Take advantage of all they have to share by visiting their website.

Things to Do on Spring Break in Miami

While hitting the beach and lounging at the pool are high on the list of things to do, spring break is a great time for adventure, too. Consider kayaking the tranquil waters of Biscayne Bay or try standup paddle boarding! South Beach Kayak can point you to all kinds of water-related fun and they offer all the equipment you’ll need, too.

When you’re ready to get out of the sun for a little while, you can spend the day shopping or pay a visit to the Miami Sequarium where they are celebrating the 50th anniversary of Flipper this spring with a Caribbean-themed Flipper Dolphin show. The seaquarium was the set for more than 80 episodes of the classic Flipper TV show in the 60s.

Miami Nightlife

For those heading to Miami to party this spring break, there are plenty of clubs to choose from. Whether you’re up for just hitting the bars, visiting comedy clubs, are looking for something ultra-exclusive there is something for everyone.

On the downside, if you’re looking for a relaxing destination away from the crowds, Miami is not the place for you during spring break. Instead, investigate the west coast of Florida for places to visit. There you’ll find plenty of fun in the sun but not quite so many people.

When I was a kid, it seemed that Clearwater and St. Pete’s were the beaches to go to, but now it’s all high-end nightclubs and stuff in Miami. Sounds expensive!
