Though the Woodstock Festival didn’t actually take place in the town of Woodstock, NY, this quaint Catskill Mountain town was the inspiration for the festival in the 1970s.

Woodstock has always been an art lovers community. It ushered in the Arts and Crafts Movement in 1902, and has ever since been a haven for creative-minded individuals and free spirits. Today, the picturesque town welcomes visitors who want to experience the natural beauty and fun activities that this town has to offer.

Woodstock is full of cozy accommodations that allow visitors to enjoy Woodstock, and also have a comfortable and welcoming place to call home during their vacation.

The Woodstock Inn is one such place, though many other inns, B&Bs and hotels offer beautiful rooms at affordable prices.

During a trip to Woodstock, visitors can venture out into nature on one of the many hiking and biking trails of the Catskill Park area during the warmer months.

As the temperatures drop, winter enthusiasts hit the slopes of nearby Windham and Hunter Mountains. Shopping, viewing art and dining are also ever-popular activities in this close-knit community.
