Sistine Chapel

Surround yourself in Michelangelo’s magical work at the Sistine Chapel. Finished in 1512, this masterpiece took 4 arduous years of work, leaving no details spared.

The famous chapel is located in Rome, Italy, and remains the top attraction in this Vatican city. Over 5 million┬ávisitors fly in to see the artist’s most notable work each year.

Take time to observe the ceiling and its fine details, vibrant colors, and enormity. Compare and contrast this work with the altar, which bears the image of the Last Judgement, painted 25 years later.

Visit the chapel Monday through Saturday, 9am – 4pm for 16 Euro. Avoid the crowds with a private, after hours tour for ~$200. If that’s a bit out of your budget, try the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel guided tour and visit Pio-Clementino Museum, the Gallery of the Candelabras, the Tapestry Galleries, and the Sistine Chapel with an official guide for ~32 Euro.
