Visit Here: Lake Garda, Italy

June 8, 2013 by

Lago di Garda, or Lake Garda, is a must visit destination in northern Italy. For southern Germans and Austrians, it’s often referred to as a “home away from home” as it’s just a short drive away. This makes it an easy visit on a European adventure.

The lake is the largest in Italy and covers a surface area of 143 miles. It is rich with history, with settlements dating back to 2000 BC.

The area is most popular for it’s dramatic beauty, but also known for its three distinct wine regions, endless rows of olive plantations, delicious food, and adventure sports.

Lake Garda’s many activities include rock-climbing, mountain biking, hiking and wind surfing. Tour companies exist for any and all types of activities including wine and bike tours, olive plantation and hiking tours, and sailing adventures.

The weather is a perfect 25-30 degrees C from May through October, with the warmest days in June through July.

Lake Garda is pristine, easy to get to, and has something to offer for travelers from all walks of life. Make sure to keep it on your radar for your next European travel.
