Visit the Louisiana Seafood Festival this Fall

New Orleans is known around the world for its fresh seafood, and the Louisiana Seafood Festival is a three-day event held in October that celebrates fresh shrimp, crab, oysters, fish, crawfish and other delicacies harvested from the nearby Gulf of Mexico.

The three-day event offers live entertainment, celebrity chef cooking demonstrations, along with popular cuisine from some of New Orleans’ top restaurants and caterers.

When: October 11 – 13

The Louisiana Seafood Festival was originally a two-day event, but has been extended for three days this year. It starts on Friday, October 11 and goes through Sunday, October 13. Admission is free, rain or shine, at the City Park Festival Grounds in New Orleans. It runs 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with the festival wrapping up on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

The Seafood

The Festival Food List includes some of Louisiana’s Finest! You’ll find seafood dishes cooked in every way you can imagine, and some you may never have thought of. Vendors come from across the state to showcase their culinary passion and creativity.

Expert Chef Cooking Demonstrations

While everyone enjoys the mouthwatering dishes served up at the Louisiana Seafood Festival, guests will also have the opportunity to learn how to cook from the experts. The Louisiana Seafood Pavilion will feature chef demonstrations from top seafood chefs from around the state. It’s a great opportunity to learn the secrets of preparing exceptional seafood dishes.

Live Entertainment

A New Orleans festival wouldn’t be complete without music, and this year’s festival is no exception. It offers a lineup of musicians that add to the authentic New Orleans experience to keep the party going.

The music lineup for the 2013 festival has not been announced as yet so be sure to check in at their website for when they make the announcement.

Local Arts and Crafts

Guests will also enjoy browsing local arts and crafts including jewelry, textiles, woodworks, and more. It a great place to find gifts to bring home or the perfect souvenir.
