The Cliffs of Moher, Ireland is one of Ireland’s most popular destinations for nature lovers. The cliffs loom along County Clare’s west coast and were originally the site of a river delta.

This famous site has appeared in movies including Harry Potter’s Half-Blood Prince and the classic The Princess Bride. From the cliffs, visitors enjoy stunning views and get a glimpse of the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, The Twelve Bens, and more.

The iconic O’Brien’s Tower marks the highest point on the cliffs in County Clare. It’s a round, stone tower built in 1835 as an observation tower for Victorian tourists.

It was built by Sir Cornelius O’Brien, a descendant of Ireland’s High King Brian Boru and it is said he originally built it to impress female visitors.
