10 Downing Food & Wine is both a world class restaurant and casual neighborhood place.
Their modern American seasonal cuisine reflects global influences from Chef Jonnatan Leiva’s San Francisco roots, Spanish and El Salvadorean heritage, and world experiences. The menu is classified into pure farm and garden categories such as vegetables, greens, grains, legumes, tartares, fish, beef, poultry and pork, and includes our house-made pastas, charcuteries, terrines, pates, ice creams, sorbets, and gelatos. A four-course tasting is presented nightly where guests may choose from dishes offered on the regular menu, which Chef Jonnatan recommends as the best way to encounter their assortment of flavors and every day offerings.
The restaurant is relaxed and casual, yet elegant; warm, yet modern. They have 74 seats inside and 36 seats outside on the seasonal sidewalk terrace along the Avenue of the Americas. The art is from contemporary American masters and curated by Tracy Williams.
Chef Jonnatan Leiva earned the title of Rising Star Chef 2008, bestowed by the San Francisco Chronicle to six Bay Area chefs based on their national influence and new energy they bring to the local culinary scene. Leiva has since appeared on ABC’s View from the Bay, NY LXTV, A Diners Journal New York Times, Food Network Challenge, Iron Chef America and a guest chef at the prestigious James Beard House Charity Foundation in New York City.
