When visiting the Big Apple, visitors may be overwhelmed with the number of places to eat in NYC. For vegans and vegetarians it can be a little more challenging, but not impossible.

The Blossom Du Jour, offers an all-vegan option in New York City as well as locations in Chelsea, Midtown West, and the Upper West Side.

Vegan Sandwiches and Wraps

The menu selection offers a variety of vegan and vegetarian sandwiches and wraps. The SkyScraper Burger is a popular favorite made with a vegan burger, soy bacon, v-cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, special sauce and is served with a side of onion rings.

The large selection of wraps has something for every preference, too. If you don’t want to miss out on authentic Buffalo spice while in New York City, try the BDJ Buffalo Wrap made with soy tenders, buffalo sauce, tomato, carrots, house dressing, lettuce.

Other Menu Options

Blossom Du Jour celebrates Taco Day each Tuesday, serving a set of three tacos made with vegan taco filling, v-cheddar, pico, v-sour cream, and lettuce.

They also serve a good selection of gluten-free options including a quesadilla on a gluten-free tortilla. However, for those with celiac disease it is important to note their kitchen is not gluten free.

Salad Meals or Sides

Blossom Du Jour also includes a nice selection of salads. Whether you’re looking for a salad as a complete meal or a side, you’ll find what you’re looking for.

The Big Salad is made with field greens, chick peas, cucumber, matchstick carrots, sunflower seeds, and served with a mustard dressing, while a Naked Burrito Salad is like eating a giant burrito without the tortilla. Instead, the ingredients are served over field greens.

Healthy shakes and smoothies

Shakes, Smoothies and Other Sweets

All the shakes and smoothies created at Blossom Du Jour not only taste good, but they’re healthy! Shakes and smoothies are made using healthy ingredients like spinach, spirulina, flax meal, pea protein, and kale. The Rainbow Smoothie is a refreshing favorite made from raspberries, blueberries, bananas, and orange juice.

Eat In, Take Out, or Delivery

The Blossom Restaurant has provided delicious, healthy, cruelty free cuisine since 2005. One of their goals has been to make a positive impact on the “fast food industry.” They do that by offering food and drinks that are healthful, environmentally conscious, and prepared quickly.

With that in mind, food from Blossom Du Jour can be eaten in, taken out, or delivered, just like any fast food establishment. But this is a healthy option for those on the go.

Hopefully restaurateurs are realizing that vegetarian restaurants attract a wider net of customers than just vegetarians! Knowing you can get fresh veggies in a downtown spot will draw lots of health-conscious people.
