Charleston Eats: Bowens Island Restaurant

February 13, 2014 by

Enjoy the best sunset in South Carolina at Bowens Island Restaurant. This family owned and operated locals joint has made waves in the headlines, known for serving some of the best tasting seafood along the east coast.

Bowens Restaurant is nestled into some marshes along the river, allowing for beautiful sunsets, wildlife viewing, and a peaceful, laid back dinner.

Try the locally harvested oysters, or the secret family recipe hushpuppies which are irresistibly delicious. The menu also provides a tantalizing list of microbrews to accompany your spicy fish tacos.

Meals cost between $6-15/plate, so it’s great for those on a budget. Bowens is open Tuesday through Saturday, 5pm-10pm.

Now I have a wild craving for seafood whatever a “hush puppy” is! Sounds great.
