Devils Food Bakery and Cookery

The Devil’s Food Bakery and Cookery in Denver Colorado offers personality and style that creates an inviting atmosphere for all ages.

While the red walls may be chipped a bit, the décor thrift-store chic, and the tables a little wobbly, the culinary creations coming from the kitchen are the draw that keeps people coming back.

Devil’s Food Bakery and Cookery

The Cookery got its start back in 1999 as a laid back bakery. At that time they only served breakfast and lunch.

Within five years they had grown to the point that they opened for dinner, too, with the same unique culinary flair. Though they’d don’t call it dinner. This unique cookery actually serves “supper.”

Meals have a down-home feel, with some classics served with a bit of a twist. These dishes are re-imagined with the Devil’s Food’s unique panache.

For instance, their breakfast tacos are made with chipotle grilled chicken, scrambled eggs, queso fresco, shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes within corn tortillas and served with black beans and avocado salsa.

For those who aren’t quite that adventurous, they also feature more traditional fare, and for those ready for breakfast later in the day, their “Breakfast at Night” selections include steak and eggs, a supper omelet, fried chicken and waffles, and Meyer lemon crepes.

Their culinary creativity does not disappoint.

Worth the Stop Even If You’re Not Hungry

This café features sense of family which extends to its location on a neighborhood street. Even if you’re not hungry, it’s a fun place to visit just for the experience.

Enjoy a cup of coffee, or choose a tea from the extensive list. If you can’t decide, the chi tea is a favorite. And if you have time, linger until your appetite arrives. Enjoy a pastry, sandwich, or a full meal.

The menu changes some from season to season, but it’s a great place to visit with friends any time of year. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience worth repeating. For more information, visit their website.
