Dine Here: C and O

June 21, 2013 by

Dining in Virginia should be nothing less than warm, comforting, and soothing for your soul and that’s exactly what you can expect at C&O in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Opened in 1976, this southern establishment has received praise since the day it’s doors opened. Six unique dining rooms offer a personable environment for any occasion, and the staff, each with their own relationship to the restaurant, take southern hospitality to the next degree.

The Bistro is the locals spot, and was crafted by the head drink slinger himself. In the company of the wood stove, the Mezzanine provides a romantic setting and outside, speckled by the whimsical string lights, the Terrace offers the perfect spot for a quiet date under the stars.

The menu is equally suitable for all types of palates, featuring comfort food with a modern verve. Start with Veal Sweetbreads or Salt Baked Sunchokes to share, have Braised Lamb Shoulder with ricotta gnocchi for the main course, and finish with Sticky Toffee Pudding.

To top it all off, meals are created using the finest local ingredients from their own herb and flower garden, specialty cheese makers, and free range cattle ranchers.

If you’re visiting Charlottesville, you don’t want to miss this award winning restaurant.

Main dishes cost $25-33 per plate. For more menu options, opening hours, and special events information, visit here.
