Eat Here, In the Dark

Blindekuh is a blind restaurant in Zurich, Switzerland. What does that mean, you ask? Well, it’s a restaurant run by blind or mostly blind staff, serving blind or mostly blind persons. But this establishment has quickly become a trend among those with their sight.

Here, you eat in complete darkness; no lights, no candles, just pure black.

Blindness forces individuals to experience their surroundings through their other four senses: smell, hearing, taste, and touch. This arguably heightens the experience of a five course dinner.

The menu changes weekly in response to the local and regional resources available. Each menu offers fish, meat, and vegetarians options, all intended to be eaten with your hands.

They also have a stage for musical, theatrical, literary, and comedy events, offering a unique experience for Blindkuh customers and the artists alike.

A visit here is sure to stimulate all your senses! Well, at least 4 of them. And just in case your wondering, the bathrooms are lit up.

Visit here for more information.

That sounds like an unusual experience! How cool to be able to do something outside the ordinary like that. Does everyone leave with spills and crumbs down their shirts?
