In an unassuming building in Center City Philadelphia, Mercato’s chefs cook up modern Italian American cuisine that keeps this small corner restaurant packed year round. Mercato uses the Old World slow cooking traditions of Italy alongside bold new flavors with fresh ingredients for a menu that has few rivals in the City of Brotherly Love.

Entrees at Mercato change often depending on the season and available ingredients, but there is always sure to be something for everyone on the menu. At crowded tables over wine, patrons of this popular establishment normally start off with the Mercato Antipasti before moving on to heartier dishes. Some favorites on the menu include, Short Rib Ragu and Pan Seared Diver Scallops.

Mercato is a cash-only BYOB, which is common for Philadelphia, but might surprise visitors to this city. Be prepared to spend an hour or two at this locale enjoying the atmosphere and of course, the food.
