For the Wine Lovers

March 10, 2013 by

Manitou Springs, Colorado has a lot to offer. It’s a whimsical, tourist town at the foot of Pikes Peak with plenty of shops to keep you busy during the day and restaurants and bars to keep you busy at night. Of the newer additions to this town includes Swirl Wine Bar.

Opened in 2008, this wine bar can satisfy the palates of both novice and sophisticated wine drinkers. The menu changes frequently, but at any given time, you can choose from about 20-30 different wines. Try just a bit with a 2oz pour, have a 6oz glass, or share a bottle.

If you’re not a wine-0, try a specialty cocktail, micro-brew, or a Colorado whiskey.

They recently began offering a full food menu with items like the “Drunk Goat Panini” or the “Fancy Ham and Cheese Sandwich.”

You can also order tapas style and have Caprese Salad or Artichokes wrapped in Speck (Italian Prosciutto). Finally, top it all off with “Chocolove Chocolate,” a dessert plate with 4 different chocolates and dried cherries.

It’s a romantic setting, perfect for a date. Inside you can lounge on vintage couches by the fireplace, with local artists’ favorite pieces adorning the walls.

Outside, on the back patio, you’ll easily be able imagine you’re sitting right in the heart of Venice, Italy.
