Good Eats: Lancaster Brewing Company

July 30, 2013 by

Lancaster Brewing Company is a restaurant full of great flavors and rich with history. Little known to most, Lancaster, Pennsylvania was a hot spot for beer in the early 1800’s. In fact, it was responsible for 7% of all beer produced in the United States at that time.

Prohibition and World War I slowed the production of beer, but now the legendary flavors live on.

Lancaster Brewing Company operates under the strict German law, Reinheitsgebot. This law mandates that beer can only be made with malt, hops, yeast, and water. The result is a fresh, crisp, natural tasting beer that’s as refreshing as it can get.

Currently their bottles include a Milk Stout, Strawberry Wheat, Rumspringa, two different pale ales, and an Oktoberfest. Try a “flight” with dinner and taste them all; then grab a 6 pack of your favorite on the way out.

For dinner, you’ll be equally torn between the eclectic mix of flavors served at this restaurant. For starters, try the white chili, the mussels, or the duck quesadilla. For the main meal, try the pretzel crusted chicken, or the lobster mac n’ cheese.

Lancaster Brewing Company has two locations, one in Lancaster and one in downtown Harrisburg. Whatever the occasion, date night or family dinner, LBC welcomes you and promises to be your new favorite local dining stop.
