Jean Philippe Patisserie, Las Vegas

Chocoholics, meet your heaven. Jean Philippe Patisserie, in the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas, is the ultimate fantasyland for anyone who loves chocolate. To enter, you pass the largest chocolate fountain in the world — a breathtaking creation of swirling white, light, and dark chocolates nearly three stories high. Note the larger-than-life chocolate sculptures.

Walk inside, and you’re greeted with row upon row of pastry cases offering every sweet you could possibly dream of — bonbons and truffles by the piece or the box, towering tiered cakes and elaborate cupcakes, decadent chocolate mousse, delicate macarons, creamy gelato, flaky pastries, and homey favorites like cookies and pie.

The genius behind this house of wonders is Jean-Philippe Maury, a former winner of the title Best Pastry Chef in France and a gold medalist at the World Pastry Championships. His expertise shows in every aspect of the Patisserie, from the artistic appearance of the desserts to the rave reviews for quality and taste.

While chocolate and other sweets are the show-stoppers at Jean Philippe Patisserie, you can also purchase light meals like crepes, salads, and sandwiches, as well as coffee drinks to wash it all down.

Long lines and little seating present challenges, but people tend to move through quickly. There’s a second location at the ARIA Casino, where Maury currently serves as Executive Pastry Chef. And if you can’t get to Vegas, or simply can’t bear to face the lines, the chocolates are also sold on his website.
