When you walk in the door to the Liberty Bell Diner, in Philadelphia, it’s not unusual to be greeted by owner, Halil Ceylan.
While he is a relatively new owner to this diner, it’s something he’s been doing for more than 25 years of feeding his customers, friends and family. And don’t be surprised if he stops by your table during your meal just to check everything is to your liking.
Family Recipes Made from Scratch
The Liberty Bell Diner is known for big portions and delicious food which reflects Ceylan’s philosophy of fresh ingredients and everything being made to order using local and sustainable ingredients when in season. It’s just like you’re sitting around his kitchen table at home except you don’t have to cook or clean up.
Dishes served include family recipes made from scratch which is the main reason patrons can depend on a high level of hearty consistency in the finished product.
Lunch and Dinner Specials
They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and in true diner style, the Liberty Bell offers different lunch and dinner specials for each day with a selection vast enough to fill an entire menu.
For example, the Monday “Super Lunch” special is Chicken Ala Spinach with fresh garlic, mushrooms, white wine, and mozzarella cheese over linguini and served with soup/salad, homemade bread and dessert.
On Thursday, the “Super Lunch” is Liberty Bell Sweet Cracker Chicken with white wine lemon sauce, served with potato, vegetable, soup/salad, homemade bread and dessert.
The Super Lunch specials are just one offering from an entire page of specials. To see the specials for the day, you can view their menus online. Along with the menu of daily specials, you’ll find a blackboard full of specials, too.
The Liberty Bell diner is known for large portions, great food, and affordable prices. They also make deliveries with the same great service customers have come to expect.
If you plan to visit Philadelphia make plans to check it out, but be ready to bring a doggie bag back to your hotel.
