After polling more than 4,000 consumers, Consumer Reports has named the Melting Pot as the number one casual dining restaurant chain.
With only 135 locations around the world, the Melting Pot is a smaller chain than competitors like Olive Garden which has 800, but in this case they can boast the title of “best casual restaurant” which proves size doesn’t matter.
What Customers Like About the Melting Pot
Consumers participating in the Consumer Reports poll chose the Melting Pot as number one based on customer service, cleanliness, atmosphere, and craveability. The restaurant chain took number one in all of these categories.
This might surprise some who have not visited a Melting Pot for some time, but the brand is evolving and has made some changes. CEO Mike Lester told Business Insider, “We’re always refining our menu, restaurant design, and customer service around them [millennials].”
The change in focus has increased sales and grown their clientele even during an industry downturn.
For those unsure of what to order from the updated menu, the Melting Pot offers a 4-course tasting menu which is served with a cheese fondue appetizer, salad, entrée and chocolate fondue desert.
This tasting menu lets customers make their own choices within each category and is a perfect choice for those who want a complete fondue dining experience. For those not quite as adventurous, the menu also offers any item a la carte and lets customers create their own customized meal.
The Melting Pot also serves a varied menu that’s not fondue related with options ranging from ravioli to filet mignon. They have also added seafood dishes, including lobster, with the summer menu slated to serve shrimp, too. These dishes are served with seasonal vegetables and signature dipping sauces.
Whether you’re on a road trip, or visiting one of your favorite destinations, check the Melting Pot’s locations to see if there is one nearby ready to tantalize your taste buds with this number one casual dining menu.
