Pane e Acqua Restaurant in Milan, Italy

June 2, 2011 by

Pane e Acqua in Milan is a place where you won’t be restricted to bread and water, as the name proposes, but be taken on a gastronomic and art experience evocative of a room found within an art gallery.

The environment is chic and fashionable, with soft cushioned banquettes and giant foam like butterflies diners are welcome to rest their backs against. The lighting is industrial spot welcoming shadows with overhanging napkins. The interior is designed by architect Paola Navone, the Chef is Francesco Passalacqua, and the owner is Rossana Orlandi.

The choice of food is extensive, beyond the usual Milanese fare with risottos and osso bucco. An example of a dish is the “Trecce di ravioli all’amaretto e ricotta di bufala con zuca e zenzero candito” which are braids of ravioli with amaretto, ricotta made from buffalo with zucchini and candied ginger.
