Tazmania Ballroom Lounge and Club in Hong Kong

March 24, 2011 by

Tazmania Ballroom, located on the 1st floor of Lan Kawi Fond Tower in Hong Kong, is attracting local and international celebrities to serious party goers.
It is a Pool Hall, Lounge and Club; a venue of Gilbert Yeung and designed by Tom Dixon through his Design Research Studio.
Tazmania Ballroom has been shortlisted in the “International Bar” category of Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2011 and is the sister venue to Hong Kong’s ultra-exclusion nightspot “Dragon-I.” The design was inspired by Gilbert Yeung’s memories of a British boarding school and college in Canada. More specifically, he reflects images of the dark, smoke-filled venues he frequented as a student.
With a specially designed system that allows Tazmania to lift away two of their three pool tables, it is anything but traditional. This is apparent even at the entrance, as you step into a glamorous, modern space that includes ample seating, an elevated booth, a billiards area, a long bar, and an outdoor balcony.
Although Tazmania Ballroom is referred to as a pool hall, it is actually a multi-functional space. It can transform from pool hall to club in a matter of minutes. When two of the tables are suspended in the air, it features one of the largest dance floors in central Hong Kong.
Tazmania Ballroom has the potential to become a crucial important player in Hong Kong’s nightlife scene.
