Fat Duck’s Chef Heston Blumenthal reached his renown reputation by an unconventional approach. It started as a 16 year old, when he and his family visited a three-star restaurant. He fell in love with the food, the ambiance, and the idea of becoming a chef.

Over the next decade he worked all kind of day jobs while at night he learned to harness the flavors of French cuisine. During the summers, he traveled across France for two weeks and took the opportunity to visit restaurants, wine estates, and suppliers. For the most part, Heston Blumenthal is self-taught, and these trips to France served as his apprenticeship.

For a total Fat Duck experience, the tasting menu offers a selected variety of dishes. When choosing the tasting menu, make plans to be at the Fat Duck for 3 ½ hours. This Fat Duck Menu provides a selection of drinks as well as dishes such as Red Cabbage Gazpacho, Snail Porridge, Roast Foie Gras, Chicken Liver Parfait, and much, much more.
