The Golden Door in San Marco offers 600-acres with Zen rock gardens, hiking trails, two swimming pools, a gym, salon and other amenities.
Named the number one destination spa on Travel and Leisure magazine’s ‘World’s Best’ list, the Golden Door is the place to go for people ready re-center their lives and regain their focus as they tend to their bodies, minds and spirits.
Golden Door Experience
The Golden Door spa experience is about empowering their guests. Their program offers fitness training combined with nourishment perfected to their needs and preferences, and combines it with indulgent spa treatments that provide the body with the care it deserves.
And through the process, guests have the opportunity to think about what they really want out of life as they regain their center.
If this sounds like exactly what you’re looking for, it is important to plan ahead because the spa limits guests to 40 each week. This ensures a four-to-one staff ratio making it possible for them to dedicate themselves to the interests, goals, tastes, and comfort of guests.
Throughout the year, they run Women’s Weeks, Men’s Weeks and Co-ed Weeks for the inclusive price of $8850 for 7 days.
For this price, guests enjoy a private room with its own garden deck or patio, a daily in-room massage, clean warmup shorts, tee shirts, and terry cloth robes, sandals, sun hat, and a fanny pack for hikes. Along with these basics guests are also supplied with Golden Door skincare products.
Upon arrival, guests undergo a program interview to establish goals. To help achieve those goals, guests can expect up to 4 sessions with a personal trainer, and can take part in more than 40 fitness classes of varying levels.
Along with working the physical, mindfulness and improvement sessions will also be scheduled along with evening programs and lectures.
Learning to Eat Healthy
The spa equips guests with a healthy cuisine based on dietary needs and preferences. While guests learn to eat healthy, they also learn about satisfying their hunger.
In-room breakfast and mid-morning snacks, lunch and mid-afternoon snacks, appetizers and dinner are designed to ensure guests will find the balance of eating what they need. To help guests revamp their nutrition, educational classes are also provided, including a weekly cooking class.
Along with programs to deal with fitness aimed at mind and body, the Spa focuses on personal care with a detailed skin analysis and personalized treatment recommendations.
In addition to the daily in-room massage, guests will take part in 5 skin-care sessions including one body treatment, a couple of herbal wraps, a manicure and pedicure, and a deep conditioning or a shampoo and finish.
Guests are also provided with courtesy roundtrip transportation from San Diego or Los Angeles area airports and are sent home with a personalized take-home fitness plan.
