Want a taste of Paris without the plane ride? Try the World, a new subscription service, is marketing itself towards foodies who want to experience global locales through hard-to-find snacks.
Here’s how it works: subscribers sign up for the program ($45/month) and Try the World sends them a gourmet box of goodies from a different city every 60 days. The company is newly launched, with Paris being the first destination. Additional cities include Tokyo and Rio.
For those who don’t want to commit to a recurring subscription, the company also offers the Deluxe Paris Box, which includes tea from Le Palais des Thés, hot cocoa, salted butter caramels, nougat bars, chocolate covered meringues, artisanal natural jams and honey, fleur de sel from Brittany, chestnut cream and French olive tapenade.
The one-off box does cost a bit higher that the subscription, at $49.95. And while it may not be cheap, it’s definitely less than a plane ticket.
All boxes ship free and subscriptions can be cancelled at any time.
