Urban Gridded Jewelry from Aminimal

aminimalWhether it’s our hometown or our dream town, we’re all for showing city pride. That usually means sporting emblemed sweatshirts and sipping out of branded mugs. But sometimes it’s nice to take our love of place to a classier, more subtle level. That’s why we love the Urban Gridded jewelry designs from AMINIMAL.

Taking a cue from maps, the simple elegant necklace and earring designs portray a bird’s eye view of cities spanning the globe. The inspiration came when the now Brooklyn-based designers were studying in Vienna.

John Briscella was studying urban strategies, while his wife, Svetlana Blum Briscella, studied design. They combined their passions to create the place-specific wearable art.

Each piece is created using 3D printing technology, resulting in an ultra thin design with a high level of detail. Designs include cities across the US, Europe, Canada and Japan. Each design comes in two finishes: silver (stainless steel) and gold (gold plated stainless steel).

Pricing varies depending upon the finish, with silver costing $40 and gold retailing for $50.

Looking at their site, it’s hard to choose. Despite the fact that several of them bring back fond vacation memories, the geometric designs and clean presentation of each are just so beautiful, we might have to buy them all.
