Editor’s Note: We asked our writers to put together a list of their favorite beauty items while traveling. Now, we’re sharing all their travel-savvy wisdom with you. Check back each week to see a new list of beauty items our writers won’t leave home without.

I like to travel light, and while I’m on holiday I don’t want to spend a lot of time on how I look. However, I still want to look good in all those vacation photos, so I try to bring beauty items that make that task a little easier. Here’s what’s in my travel beauty bag these days.

L’Oreal Paris Magic Sin Beautifier B.B. Cream: I love this product because it gives my skin a nice natural finish without looking made up, but that’s not the only reason. I also use it because it’s one of those multi-tasking skincare products. It hydrates and evens out my skin tone, and it doesn’t feel like I have anything on my face.

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio: This set of three eyeliners is perfect for travel, as well as everyday, because it is water-resistant, smudge-resistant, and lasts all day.

Another bonus is that it never needs to be sharpened. All I have to do is turn it and another section of color is available for application. It applies a thin line of color, and the trio of colors can be applied separately or together depending on my mood. Just cap it and pack it.

Great Lash Big Lash Mascara by Maybelline: To finish off the eyes, I apply Great Lash Big Lash. It doesn’t clump and it’s safe for my contacts. Most of all, it’s my choice because I like how it looks and it washes off with soap and water so I don’t have to carry makeup remover.

Beauty Products

Neutral lipstick: I don’t have a favorite brand of lipstick. In fact I don’t always wear it, but I bring along a natural, neutral shade for those times when I want to look a little more dressed up. A neutral shade goes with anything I’m wearing, so one color is all I need.

Almond Oil: Almond oil is like a secret weapon. I use it instead of lotion and it soaks right in without feeling greasy. It’s natural and has no scent. It’s not only good for dry skin, but it is also an excellent emollient.

When I get out of the shower, I apply it and then with the leftovers on my hands, I run my fingers through my wet hair before blow drying. It’s the perfect leave in conditioner!

I’ll have to try your almond oil trick! My hair gets so frizzy in hot, humid climates.

You’re welcome, Rebecca. It doesn’t take much. A little goes a long way.
