What’s in Your Travel Beauty Bag, Jen?

Editor’s Note: We asked our writers to put together a list of their 5 favorite beauty items while traveling. Now, we’re sharing all their travel-savvy wisdom with you. Check back each week to see a new list of beauty items our writers won’t leave home without.

When I travel, my Vera Bradley Cosmetic Bag only holds the few keys items that I want to keep me looking fresh throughout the day and into the night. I forego products like eyeliner and lip gloss and instead only bring products that I find essential and useful.

1. My go-to face product for home or travel is always Physician’s Formula Solar Powder Light Bronzer. It’s kind of like a foundation, bronzer and sunblock all in one.

Applied with a powder brush over the entire face, this product covers up any blemishes, makes my skin look smooth, and gives me a touch of color, all while providing SPF 20 coverage. A lightweight and oil-free product that lasts all day is key, and this product delivers.

2. A great, clump-free, easy-to-apply mascara can brighten up your eyes and pull a look together, so I always tote around CoverGirl Professionals all-in-one mascara. This mascara is also waterproof up to a certain extent, so if I get caught in the rain or take a quick dip in the ocean on my adventures, my eye makeup stays intact.

3. At home and abroad, I love EOS Lip Balm. With fun flavors like Honeysuckle Honeydew and Summer Fruit, it’s easy to get addicted to these cute little egg-shaped lip balms.

They are 95% organic and contain shea butter, vitamin E, and jojoba oil to keep lips smooth and looking great. They also sell lip balms that are medicated and contain SPF. I currently love the Strawberry Sorbet balm.

4. On the search for a great blush that had staying power and also looked natural, I came across Tarte cream blushes and have been using them ever since. My color is Tipsy, though they come in a variety of hues to match your skin tone.

Apply a dab to each cheek and gently rub to get a dewy, romantic look with not a lot of work. I often don’t wear this during the day, but apply at night to liven up my look.

5. Travel-sized perfumes not only make abiding by TSA restrictions easy, but they also save a lot of space in a cosmetic bag. I love Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Travel Size for its floral scent that is perfect for both day or night. Just a dab from the rollerball applicator is enough to keep me smelling good for hours on end.

Wow, that is not a lot of make-up, is it? I am going to have to try the triple threat bronzer, foundation and sunscreen now! Sounds great.
