When visiting Regensburg, Germany, make sure to stop by Cafe Líla for brunch. Breakfast foods can be hard to come by in Germany, but at this cafe, they are done just right.

Cafe Líla is a hidden oasis, tucked into a corner in historical “Altstadt,” or old city, of Regensburg. Once you find it, you’ll never forget it.

Inside, the windows let in a romantic glow over the mismatched tables and chairs. Towards the back, there’s a small cove with couches and books, perfect for lounging back while enjoying an Americano, or a locally crafted brewski. The walls are adorned with chic artwork of local artists, and the air is filled the buzz of friendly chatter, espresso machines, and the smell of potatoes and eggs.

The menu offers traditional breakfast, lunch, and dinner options made with the finest fresh ingredients, like local eggs and regional produce. For breakfast, try the pochierte Eier über frisches Gemüse (poached eggs over fresh vegetables) or for lunch, the robust Tomaten-Kartotte Suppe (Tomato Carrot Soup).

The menu is very budget friendly with prices between 3-10€ per meal, but don’t be fooled, the serving sizes are enough to satisfy the even biggest appetite. The cafe is cash only, so don’t forget some crisp Euro’s.

If brunch isn’t your thing, stop by for dinner and a cocktail,or two, and enjoy the live music and hip Euro crowd.
